The Body Art Expo brings three days of tattooing and plenty of buzz
By Enid R. Spitz
Clark County Event Center became one large tattoo and piercing parlor this weekend, where the loudspeaker announcement for best sleeve was barely audible over hundreds of buzzing needles.
The Body Art Expo takes exhibitors from states including California, Florida, Michigan and Nevada on a tour around the country to tattoo. This is the Expo’s first year visiting Portland/Vancouver, and it drew a mixed response from Portland’s tattoo community. One local shop joined the event for its inaugural weekend: Forbidden Body Art from SE Stark St., which is also a school for tattoo artists. Jessica, co-owner of the shop and director of Forbidden School of Body Art, explained the experience of 12-hour tattooing days while working on a client this Sunday.
