The Three Hour Brownie: A Journey

In an interview with Tabbie Malaterre, Caleb Tudor, and Josiah Bone, I attempted to unearth just what makes cooking so hard for our generation. Throughout the segment the three twenty-somethings tried to complete a simple thirty minute brownie recipe that ended up taking them around three hours to finish.

With the distractions of March Madness looming in the background the boys found it difficult to stay focused. Caleb, at the insistence of Josiah, actually ingested an entire tablespoon full of pure cocoa powder that resulted in a less than pleasant experience for him.

And while Caleb and Josiah were both extremely confident in their cooking abilities, it was Tabbie who ended up doing the brunt on the work showing that sometimes motivation counts for more than skill in the kitchen.

I wonder what’s wrong with a three hour brownie though. Isn’t cooking supposed to be fun and relaxing? Does our generation have no patience?
