Attention UP Students-
If you happened to look out the window while madly trying to study for midterms and write papers (you already know I was) you might have noticed the sunny weather we had over the weekend.
Included with the sunny weather and incoming Spring was the UP Pilots baseball team opening Joe Etzel Field in their first home series of the season against Utah Valley.
What? You didn’t go? Oh, I noticed, because only 323 people decided to attend the Pilots first home series of the season. That is pretty weak in comparision with other schools like Oregon and Oregon State (who actually dramatically raise attendence every year). Just to give you a example of how crazy other school’s fans are, in the Pilots recent trip to Mississippi State had them playing in front of over 7,000 fans. Crazy!
Now, that’s probably a bad example just because all those schools all have drastically larger student numbers, but come gang, I know you all needed to get a break from the studying or your roommate, whatever. It’s baseball season and it only comes once a year. It’s time to get out there and cheer for the team and get a fantastic burger or hot dog and be rewarded with a win like Sunday’s 7-3 victory to close out the series did.
The team needs the students cheering and I know students need a break. Sounds like a marriage made in Heaven if you ask me.
See you out there,
