Adidas Technologies Used by Portland Timbers

There are several products from competing corporations like Adidas and Nike who share similar products. For example, the miCoach PACER Bundle combines a heart rate monitor, real time digital coaching, interactive training and post-workout analysis of pace, distance and stride rate – in short, everything a person needs to stay in the zone every training session. But just how useful are these products to a professional athlete? Steven Evans is a first year professional soccer player who plays with the Portland Timbers Signed under the Major League Soccer homegrown contract (where a club has first rights to a player in their academy) in January. He has been playing since the young age of 7 and looks to improve his game in any aspect. Newly endorsed by Adidas, Evans is a regular user of miCoach devices during training and everyday exercising. Adidas implements these devices in soccer shoes, but the question lies whether or not it is relevant. There have been many opinions that this product is not very relevant to the game, and that determining those statistics isn’t very influential. But like what Evans said, “Statistics about pass completion or shots are more beneficial for soccer players, but it is still great to know how hard I am working and to know what my limits are.”
