Since winning American Idol eight years ago, Carrie Underwood has transformed herself into a superstar that millions of fans fawn over. Besides the fact that she’s beautiful, married to a professional hockey player, uses her wealth to contribute to global causes, and has a heavenly voice, which seems like too much for one person to be blessed with already, she also has a rockin’ body. There has been a lot of hype lately around her training routine. Everyone is dying to know how she got those legs of hers.
I’ve seen Carrie perform three times and each time she never ceases to amaze me. She always has so much energy and always looks fantastic. Every time I see her I can’t help but think that she must be in such great shape. She is always running around the stage on those 6 inch heals and struts around in all the fabulous outfits she gets to wear. Most of us don’t have the pressure of performing every night under the bright lights or feel the burn of the cameras flashing that follow her around all the time. It seems like she would have so little time to focus on her fitness and be dedicated to a healthy lifestyle when she is always on the road. So how does she do it?
Well, as it turns out Carrie has committed to a vegan lifestyle. She says it makes her feel great and helps keep her energy up. But just eating right isn’t going to make you strong and fit. Her fitness routine is rigorous and takes serious dedication. Her first step to keeping up with her fitness has recently been to use the new LiveStrong app for smart phones that help people track their food intake and training routines. Her favorite fitness routine starts with a deck of cards. She assigns a body area to each suit and writes it down. She shuffles the deck and starts flipping. Whatever number is on the card she must perform that amount of the exercise she assigned to that suit. She goes all the way through the deck before she calls it a day. Seems like a crazy workout but if you want to look like Carrie Underwood you have to put in a little work. I think I’ll try that workout this week. I’ll let you know how it goes! 🙂
