Spring cuts are coming back into style as local shirt printing company, Tibetan Fox gears up for the season.
Located on NW 23rd Sreet, Tibetan Fox couldn’t be in a more trendy spot for local and non-local shoppers. Company owner, Derek Danielson, is ecstatic about Spring coming around the corner.
“There is a lot of business that comes out of the Spring time when the weather begins to warm up,” said Danielson. “A lot of the prints I make around this time are more PDX oriented, which attracts the 23rd St. tourists as they avoid the wet season.”
The local company doesn’t just make custom t-shirts. They also provide in-house paintings done by Derek himself as well as other pieces done by local featured artists.
Next month, local artist Clifton Campbell’s artwork will be featured at Tibetan Fox for his debut drawing exhibit.
“I have a lot of recent prints that I think will make good sales,” said Campbell. “I have a pretty specific style of drawing but I think it fits in quite well with the scene Derek has made Tibetan Fox into.”
The company routinely features local artists in shop party exhibits with complimentary beer and wine every few months.
“I think it’s a good thing,” said Danielson. “It attracts people from the art community to the shop who really appreciate custom artwork…and they want to leave wearing it!”
Tibetan Fox certainly has taken on an alternative route to shirt printing, and continues to print hundreds of shirts each and every day.
